Brookfield Dog Licenses
Just a reminder:
Dog licenses must be renewed annually by April 30th. If you have not licensed your dog for 2022, please be sure to do so before June 1 to avoid monthly late fees or additional expenses.
All dogs 4 months of age or older that live in the Town of Brookfield must be licensed, as required by New Hampshire State Law (NH RSA 466). A new adult dog should be licensed immediately, and a puppy must be licensed as soon as it receives its first rabies shot.
Please stop in the Town Clerk's Office for a license and bring your dog’s current rabies certificate and any applicable spay/neuter certificate. The following fees will be due for each license:
- Spayed/neutered dogs $6.50
- Male and female dogs (not spayed or neutered) $9.00
- Group License for 5 or more dogs $25.00
- Senior Citizens (owner 65 years or older) $2.00 (for the first dog, fees as above for additional dogs)
A Late Fee of $1.00 is charged for each month after May that the license is not renewed. Dogs that are not licensed may risk a civil forfeiture fee of $25.00 and/or additional expenses.
Note: For your convenience, dogs with a 2021 license may be renewed on-line.
Please refer to the Brookfield website for additional details or contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 603-522-3688. We greatly appreciate that you notify our office, if you no longer have a previously licensed dog, so that we may update our records.
