Town Clerk

Mission Statement

The Town Clerk is mandated as the keeper of the Town Records, as defined in the State Statutes. In Brookfield, the Selectman have appointed an Archivist to work with the Town Clerk to arrange and describe the records, and to work with the public and town officials to provide access to the Archives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Motor Vehicle registrations both renewals and new
  • Dog Licenses
  • Copies of Vital Records. - Birth, Death, Marriage.
  • Marriage Licenses
  • Transfer Station Permits
  • Accept new voter registrations
  • Absentee Ballots

NH RSA 33A mandates that each municipality in the state have a Municipal Records Committee, and designates the membership of that Committee. It's responsibilities are outlined in the statute.
