Voting in Brookfield New Hampshire

A person must meet the following requirements to register and vote in New Hampshire:

  • 18 years of age or older on Election day;
  • A United States citizen; and 
  • Domiciled in the town or ward where the person seeks to vote.

You will need to provide a driver's license or non-driver ID from any state for proof of identity and age AND a birth certificate, US Passport/Passcard, or naturalization document to prove citizenship.  Please note that the New Hampshire Real ID compliant driver's license is NOT proof of US Citizenship.  If you do not have the required documents, you will be asked to sign a Qualified Voter Affidavit under oath by an election official.  Additional information is located on the New Hampshire Secretary of State website:  Registering to Vote in New Hampshire.

For guidance regarding elections and voting, please contact the Town Clerk or visit the New Hampshire Secretary of State website.  Details regarding registering to vote, requesting absentee ballots, and the Voter Look-up to check your party registration or absentee ballot status are available on the website.   

Voter registrations, including transfers, corrections and changes to party affiliation may only be accepted in-person by a Supervisor of the Checklist or the Town Clerk.
